Guidance through the Learning Process

Guidance for Grades 2-9

Initial Consultation

AnnMarie offers an initial consultation of 1.5 hours. In this meeting, we meet with the student and person primarily responsible for overseeing the student’s education. We learn about student’s interests, view student’s current work level, discuss state standards and preferred pedagogies.

Private Tutor

Receive personalized support for English Language Arts and Social Studies, (the Humanities). Specifically: reading, writing, presentation, storytelling, history/herstory, French and the natural world. AMG will pair skill-building with confidence-boosting assignments to help students move through their challenges.

Co-Create and Personalize Curricula

Together, we will design or choose a student’s curricula and resource that curricula with the appropriate materials, We will help to find classes in the community. We choose a minimum of 4 subjects for the semester. To personalized curricula for the semester (or year) takes 2 to 4 hours, including the initial consultation. Families with multiple siblings can streamline the process.

Book Clubs: Grades 2-8

In her Book Clubs: AMG guides families through the weeks of reading and writing by:

  • writing weekly letters to parents,

  • providing all the books and materials needed to complete assignments,

  • goal setting and monitoring of progress,

  • informal check-ins on how a student is doing.
